Robert Noyce Scholarship Program

Overview

This program seeks to encourage talented science, technology, engineering, and mathematics majors and professionals to become K-12 mathematics and science teachers. The program provides funds to institutions of higher education to support scholarships, stipends, and programs for students who commit to teaching in high-need K-12 schools.

Deadlines

Letters of intent (optional): March 5, 2004
Formal proposals: April 2, 2004

Program Solicitation

The program solicitation and proposal deadline for 2005 have not yet been published. NSF 04-527, which covered the proposal deadline in 2004, contains a description of the program that may be useful to prospective proposers. However, for the latest information and instructions for submitting proposals, proposers must consult the new program solicitation, which will be published at least three months before the relevant proposal deadline.

Note: In FY2002, the Noyce Scholarship Program was open only to current awardees in the following NSF programs, who were invited to request supplemental funding for scholarships: NSF Collaboratives for Excellence in Teacher Preparation (CETP); Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Teacher Preparation (STEMTP); Centers for Learning and Teaching (CLT); Urban Systemic Program (USP); and Rural Systemic Initiatives (RSI).
