Acquisition Management Branch (AMB)
The Acquisition Management Branch is responsible for providing acquisition
support for the Office of the Director NIDDK, the Extramural Divisions
(Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolic Diseases; Digestive Diseases
and Nutrition; Kidney, Urology, and Hematology; Division of Nutrition
Research Coordination; Division of Extramural Activities), the Division
of Intramural Research, and the staff offices (Human Resources, EEO,
Office of Public Information and Liaison, Planning and Evaluation,
etc.) of the Institute.
The mechanisms used are Research and Development contracts, Non-Research
and Development Contracts, Simplified Acquisitions, Federal Supply
Schedule Contracts, Small Business Innovative Research Contracts,
and Commercial Contracts. Programs supported include, but are not
limited to, clinical trials, NIDDK clearinghouses, equipment purchases
for all areas of the Institute, epidemiological research, transplant
registries, etc.
