In accordance with NASA policy, the USGS EROS Data Center hosts and
distributes SRTM data via the USGS Seamless Data Distribution System -
Enhanced.
See Quick Steps for Obtaining Seamless Data
(recommended) or go directly to the USGS
Seamless Data Distribution System - Enhanced .
Initially 1-arc second (30 meter) SRTM data postings of the continental
United States can now be obtained in two ways via the USGS EDC Seamless
Distribution System;
Electronic Download: Up to an area 30 degrees square of raster data (1.6
gigabytes), in 100 megabyte sized files, are downloadable at no charge.
Media (CD): SRTM data is also available via media (CD) for a cost-to-produce
fee which is $32 per CD, plus $45 CD processing, and $5. shipping. Approximately
600 megabytes of data fits on a CD. If desired, areas less than or greater
than 30 degrees square can be ordered via this method. Media formats offered
are ArcGrid, BIL (integer data), and TIFF (32 floating point grid).
As new 3-arc second (90 meter) international continental datasets are
processed and received, USGS will distribute this data via the Seamless
Data Distribution System - Enhanced.
