In an effort to ensure that the Southwest Information Node addresses the most relevant biological issues of the region, we are continually working to establish a consortium of science and land management organizations to assist in defining SWIN's biological focus, promoting SWIN in the region and providing relevant biological data and expertise.

USGS
Fort Collins Science Center This Center is a lead agency in the NBII Southwest Information Node and has played an integral part in the promotion and development of SWIN.

Southwest Biological Science Center This Center has been instrumental in the initial population of SWIN's Science Information Database (SID), and is an important SWIN partner.

The Gap Analysis Program (GAP) The USGS GAP program is a geographic approach for assessing the current protection of biological diversity over large geographic areas, SWIN and GAP are partnering to provide access to the extensive data layers available through the southwest regional GAP analysis project (SW Re-GAP).

Colorado University
The Mountains and Plains Spatio-Temporal Database Informatics Initiative (MaPSTeDI) is a collaborative effort to convert separate collections into one distributed biodiversity database and research toolkit for the southern and central Rockies and adjacent plains. Linked with GIS mapping tools and available via the Internet, this database will allow researchers and the public to easily track changes in biodiversity in this area over the last century.
University of New Mexico
Earth Data Analysis Center EDAC provides technical support and processing of data sets incorporated into SWIN mapping applications.

Museum of Southwest Biology colloborates with the SWIN in providing pertinent museum collection information on vertebrate species for the southwest region.

Sevilleta Long Term Ecological Research Project collaborates with SWIN in developing ecological issues and research needs relevant to the southwest region

New Mexico State University
Laboratory for Environmental Spatial Analysis LESA is a research organization designed to expedite, support, and perform cooperative geospatial natural resource-related research within and about the State of New Mexico.

University of Arizona
Arid Lands Information Center collaborates with SWIN to compliment and expand coverage in Arizona and Sonoran Desert-specific resources and data.
Southwest Strategy The Southwest Strategy (SWS), a multi-agency group, collaborates with SWIN in defining key issues as well as information and analytical tool needs of resource managers in the southwest region.
National Park Service Bandelier National Monument supports SWIN's efforts to provide pertinent biological information and analysis tools to aid in science-based natural resource decision making.
Valles Caldera National Preserve (VCNP) Trust and its Board of Trustees is a federal-state-local-private organization overseeing the VCNP, purchased by the federal government in 2001. It supports SWIN's efforts to provide pertinent biological information and analysis tools to aid in science-based natural resource decision making
