The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF)
was convened by the Public Health Service to rigorously evaluate clinical
research in order to assess the merits of preventive measures, including
screening tests, counseling, immunizations, and preventive medications.
The latest recommendations are released incrementally as they become available in the Guide
to Clinical Preventive Services, Third Edition: Periodic Updates.
These recommendations address new topics and update the 1996 recommendations from the Guide
to Clinical Preventive Services, Second Edition.
