The Earth Sciences Portal is a collection of over 280 science and research web sites that span from atmospheric and climate studies to Earth science technology and global change data. The portal is indexed by subject categories and is fully searchable.

Education Links

Clicking this image will take you to the Earth Science Educator, a repository of earth education links. The Earth Science Educator contains hundreds of teaching and learning web resources and provides teachers and students with quick access to a set of rich and scientifically-oriented educational resources on a wide range of Earth science research activities. The Educator is organized by educational elements, created by people and not computer programs and is fully searchable.

Disaster Links logo displays artistic rendering of some of the types of disaster: fire, severe storm, hurricane, wind, and water.

The Disaster Links section provides informative links to Earth Observatory's Natural Hazards web site which displays a global map of timely disaster events and information, the Natural Disaster Reference Database which is a bibliographic database of references on the use of remote sensing for disaster management, and the Disaster! Finder, a searchable portal containing hundreds of carefully selected disaster web resources on the Net.

Looking for remote sensing data? This section provides links to various data services and resources available from the Earth Sciences Directorate and our data product partners such as the Global Change Master Directory (GCMD), the The Goddard Earth Science Distributed Active Archive Center, Crustal Dynamics Data Information System (CDDIS) and the DAAC Alliance.

Earth Imagery

Visible Earth: A searchable directory of images, visualizations, and animations of the Earth The Earth Sciences Directorate has a wealth of Earth imagery for you to browse, search and download. The Visible Earth image repository provides a consistently updated, central point of access to the superset of NASA's Earth science-related images, animations, and data visualizations. These images are considered to be public domain and, as such, are freely available to the interested public-at-large, the media, scientists, and educators for re-use and/or re-publication. Earthgazer is a digital library of NASA Earth Science visual and audio resources for educational product developers. Earthgazer is indexed by resource type and subject category and is fully searchable.

Organizations

Research activities and related supporting activities of the Directorate take place in its three "Laboratories" (for Atmospheres, Terrestrial Physics, and Hydrospheric Processes) and in the following special organizations: Earth and Space Data Computing Division, Global Change Data Center, and the Goddard Institute for Space Studies. The Directorate also provides support to the Earth Observing System through its EOS Project Science Office.
