These standards have been established for Web designers to take advantage of the latest browser technologies to create better, cleaner, and more interactive Web pages that are more universally compatible with all styles of Web browsers. As browser technologies continue to change, an increased importance will be placed on using an up-to-date Web browser in order to view Web pages on the Internet.
As standards have changed, old standards have either been replaced or discarded in favor of new ones.
