Navigating This Web Site

We have attempted to make this site easy for you to use. This FAQ contains some pointers to keep in mind when navigating the site.

The Header & Footer Link Menu.  Every page on this site has the following links at the top and bottom of the page:

Back and Forward Buttons.  Most browsers support the ability to follow your path forward and backward from where you are. Keep in mind, however, that it can be frustrating to deal with the anchor feature used in many of the pages on this site. Because of this you may find it more useful in some cases to use the links found in the footer.

Resource Categories.  Each resource on this Web site has been assigned to one or more resource categories to make it easier to find (see Biological Resources for a listing of categories). Some resources are difficult to categorize. If you think a resource has been categorized incorrectly please call it to our attention via email at npwrc@usgs.gov.

By Taxon/Geography.  Each resource has also been assigned to a taxonomic and geographic category. Once again, some resources are difficult to categorize or may fall into more than one category. Use this feature if you are interested in a particular species or geographic area.
