Some of our users are experiencing a problem with opening the PDF files from the DOE National Telephone Directory web site. Here is what happens: A user clicks on one of the PDF files, Adobe Acrobat Reader starts and it appears the file will open. The user then gets a blank screen. We have found the problem to be a compatibility issue between Internet Explorer 4.0 (or later) and Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.02 (or later). There are a couple of ways around the issue. If you have access to Netscape, you can use it. The files opens just fine. If you do not have Netscape, you can save the PDF file to disk and then open it. To do this, right click the file, select "save target as" and save the file to the directory of your choice. Open the file from the directory where it was saved.
