Sample Collection

The second element in the Board's strategy for Methods and Data Comparability is sample collection and corresponds to the field half of the third 'cog' of the Monitoring Framework. Numerous tools have been developed in the past few years that help the monitoring professional document the details required to produce consistent and comparable data from the complex tasks of obtaining field samples, and measuring chemical, biological, and physical characteristics.
