Personal Leadership

Senior Executives Association

The Senior Executives Association (SEA) was founded in 1980 as a tax-exempt, nonprofit corporation representing career Federal executives. Our membership is committed to effective, efficient, and productive leadership in government. SEA seeks to ensure equitable treatment and compensation, continuing professional education, and recognition for the more than 6,000 career Federal executives who comprise the nation's highest civil service ranks.

Transforming Organizations

Council for Excellence in Government

In working to improve government performance, the Council draws on its unusual strengths as a convener, catalyst, and communicator. Its membership -- men and women who have served at the leadership level in both government and the private sector -- is a unique resource. Embodying their experience and insight, Council programs bring together individuals, institutions, and ideas in both sectors to help develop creative leadership and management in government and raise the quality of the dialogue between public and private institutions and individual citizens.

DiversityInc

While tapping into sources from all around the globe, this site offers helpful insights on managing diversity in businesses, monthly featured topics, groundbreaking industrial case studies, and information on how diversity affects business.

PricewaterhouseCoopers Endowment for Government

Through grants for research and forums, The PricewaterhouseCoopers Endowment for The Business of Government stimulates research and facilitates discussion on new approaches to improving the effectiveness of government at the Federal, state, local, and international levels. All grants are competitive.

Policy in a Constitutional System

The Council of State Governments

The mission of the Council of State Governments is to provide a system of support for state government officials across the nation. This will allow state governments to respond more effectively to taxpayer concerns, as changes in the Federal Government require states to do more with less. It helps increase efficiency by providing new and creative approaches to leadership, research and information, and problem solving.

National Association of Counties

The National Association of Counties is a source of information about current issues that have the ability to impact county government. County governments may also get information on community awards, workshops, and other relevant county events.

National Conference of State Legislatures

The NCSL homepage provides comprehensive information and research on critical state issues, informative publications, provocative meetings and seminars, a legislative information database, and a staff in solving problems. The NCSL serves as the legislature's partner in policymaking by serving as an assistant to legislators and staff.

National League of Cities

The National League of Cities is the country's largest and most representative organization serving municipal government. The Web page is designed to serve as a local government guide to the World Wide Web by highlighting and organizing resources that may be of interest to local government officials and others involved in government.
