Stan Kask
M.S., Computer Science
Stan serves as an adjunct faculty member at FEI and provides consulting services in the management of organizations and human resource management programs. He held a variety of positions in the Federal Service prior to retiring from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Headquarters (NASA) in 2001. Stan had been the Director, Management Systems Division in NASA?s Office of Human Resources and Education since 1991. He was responsible for the management of the $1.7B salary and travel budget of the Agency, the allocation of the Agency?s 20,000 civil service workforce and the management of the Agency?s automated human resources information systems. He previously held the position of Deputy Assistant Associate Administrator for Personnel and General Management. During his 30 years of Federal service, Stan has held a variety of staff and management positions with NASA, the Department of Transportation, the Federal Trade Commission, and the former Civil Service Commission. He has broad experience in human resources management. His assignments have focused on the resizing and reshaping of the NASA workforce. He was a major architect of NASA?s buyout efforts, orchestrated the development of workforce tracking and planning models, managed personnel management evaluation programs, and microcomputer- and mainframe-based personnel information systems. Stan received an M.S. in Computer Science from John Hopkins University in 1987 and B.S. from MIT?s Sloan School of Industrial Management in 1971.
