John F. X. Irving
J.D., LL.M., Constitutional Law
After earning a Master of Laws Degree from New York University, John pursued additional studies both at Columbia Law School and Oxford University. He has worked for government at the local, state and Federal levels and has been a member of Federal advisory committees in education, criminal justice and juvenile delinquency. From that broad base, John moved into higher education and served for seven years as dean of the law school at Seton Hall University. Among other achievements, John pioneered training programs for judges who sit in the juvenile and family courts and he has been honored by their National Council for distinguished contributions to the juvenile courts of the United States. These days, John practices law in New Jersey and provides counseling to lawyers and others who are confronted with ethical dilemmas. Recipient of the David Ben Gurion Award from Israel for his humanitarianism, John is active in community and veterans affairs. He is a trustee of the V.A. Bio-Medical Research Foundation and has been a popular member of FEI's adjunct faculty for several years where he focuses on legal issues in the public workplace including current concerns for privacy and personal liability.
