Judith Kahn
Ph.D., Organization Development, Communications
Judith is an educator, consultant and trainer in organizational behavior, leadership development, team building, and cultural and interpersonal communications. She works with government agencies and in the private sector designing and delivering programs for on-site and retreat settings. Judith has been affiliated with FEI since 1993 as an adjunct faculty member and consultant. She facilitates Leadership Development Teams and teaches executive and cultural communications. Judith holds a doctorate in Psychology and Religious studies and a B.S. in Communications. Among her recent clients are the Department of Justice, the Environmental Protection Agency, Diamond Technology Partners (a consulting firm that serves the needs of e-Commerce companies), The Curry School of Education at the University of Virginia (UVA) and the Charlottesville Department of Social Services. Prior to her move to full-time consulting, Judith was Assistant Professor of Technology, Culture and Communications in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the UVA. She was also a staff psychologist at the Center for Clinical Psychology Services, the teaching clinic for the UVA doctoral training program in Clinical Psychology. Earlier in her academic career, Judith was on the faculties of The New School for Social Research and New York University. She is an ordained rabbi and worked as a chaplain in the Federal Women's Prison in Alderson, WV. Judith has been working in organizational development and teaching cross-cultural communications since the 1970's when she wrote the book, The Guide to Conscious Communication, published by Bantam in 1975. Her most recent publication is Christmas with Eagles in Uncommon Wealth: Essays on Virginia's Wild Places, a book edited by the Virginia Chapter of the Nature Conservancy and published by Falcon Press (Helena, Montana, October, 1999.) Judith is also certified in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, consults in curriculum planning and development, and provides executive coaching.
