Ron Redmon
Coaching & Support for Leaders/Strategies and Organizational Renewal
Ron is an independent coach and change consultant working with leaders and their teams to create organizations where people can accomplish extraordinary results. He believes that good people, willing to learn together, can accomplish anything they set out to do. His mission is to facilitate that learning and make new knowledge and insights accessible to them. While he has worked with clients in all sectors, his first love is the public sector because it is government which holds a free society together, and in this period of transformation for all our institutions, he believes nothing could be more important. His work involves working with executive teams to craft new and powerful visions of a future they want to see and coaching them to achieve that future. His experience includes being the senior leadership coach for the Excellence in Government Fellows program of the Council for Excellence in Government for four years since holding a variety of senior leadership positions in the career Federal service in a wide range of mission and organizational settings. His work focused on people development, internal communications, public affairs, and strategic thinking. His last position was as the chief operating officer of the Federal Quality Institute (FQI), an internal consulting and learning resource for government leaders. He also served on FQI's consulting team, and was one of the handful of government officials who directly staffed the President's Management Council. Prior to joining the Federal Quality Institute, Ron coordinated outreach activities for the National Performance Review where he was a key player in organizing the Summit on Reinventing Government for Vice President Gore in 1993. His government career also included service on Capitol Hill and as a presidential management intern at the White House. Ron's education includes a B.S. from the College of William and Mary, an M.A. from the American University, plus further graduate studies at Syracuse. He is an alumnus of the Fellows in Change Management program of Johns Hopkins University, studied organizational dynamics at the prestigious Gestalt Institute of Cleveland, has completed the Professional Coaching Course of the Coaches Training Institute, and is qualified to use and interpret the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. Ron is a member of the Association for Psychological Type, the Association for Quality and Participation, the Institute of Noetic Sciences, the national Organization Development Network, the Society of Organizational Learning, the World Future Society, and a charter member of the International Coaches Federation.
