Linda Bunker
Organizational Development/Sport Psychology
Linda is an internationally renowned Sport Psychologist, working with professional athletes and teams to enhance performance. She has been a consultant to many state and Federal agencies as well as private corporations to help individuals and teams function more effectively. An author of 15 books, and over 150 articles, she is a sought-after motivational speaker and advisor. The techniques used to help elite athletes are quite similar to those needed by successful managers and executives who must deal with stress, conflict resolution, teamwork, coaching others and interpersonal development. Courses and workshops she conducts include Coaching for Enhanced Performance, Winning Strategies for the Executive Playing Field, Career Resiliency and Attitude is a Decision. Linda has been honored by the Women's Sports Foundation (President's Award), was elected to the Women's Sports Hall of Fame, and the American Academy of Kinesiology, has served as the President of the Sport Psychology Academy, was selected for the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award for outstanding service to the University, received the Thomas Jefferson Award, the highest honor bestowed on a professor at the University of Virginia, and in May 2000 received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from her alma mater, the University of Illinois.
