Address Heavily-Debated Issues Surrounding Virtual Colonoscopy
Two
studies published in the journal Gastroenterology show that widespread
use of virtual colonoscopy will ultimately decrease demand for
traditional colonoscopy and increase colorectal cancer screening
rates, and “prepless” virtual colonoscopy is as effective
as the traditional method of colorectal cancer screening.--AGA

Surgical Procedure to Treat GERD in Children Found to be Ineffective
According
to a study published in the journal Clinical Gastroenterology and
Hepatology, more than 60 percent of the children who received
surgical fundoplication to control GERD had recurring symptoms of the
disease months following surgery. The procedure is the third most common
