BBWI's Idaho Completion Project employees sponsor Earth Day activities
Employees from BBWI's Idaho Completion Project will sponser Earth Day activities on Saturday, April 24. This year's Earth Day celebration will be held at the Tautphaus Park hockey shelter and the Tautphaus Park Zoo at the hockey shelter include music, conservation and educational exhibits, recycled art projects, family-oriented activities, free seedlings and door prizes.
The celebration at the hockey shelter will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Activities at the zoo include conservation and educational displays and face painting. Zoo admission will be free for children 12 and under, with a paying adult and a grocery bag of aluminum cans for recycling. The zoo will be open from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
BBWI, along with several other entities, is sponsoring the event. Employees from the Pollution Prevention Program (Idaho Completion Project -- ICP) and the Department of Sustainable Buildings and Applied Mechanics have been instrumental in planning this year's festivities.
The ICP will have two exhibits at the Tautphaus Park hockey shelter: recycling and affirmative procurement. The Department of Sustainable Buildings and Applied Mechanics will have an exhibit on sustainable design, including a computer-based energy game.
