Producing Biocatalyst
Caption:
Undergraduate chemical engineering students Kurt Thorne (standing right) and Heather Johnson, National Science Foundation (NSF)-Idaho EPSCoR target investigator Dr. Woody Admassu (seated), and research mentor and department chair Dr. Roger Korus, are pictured here with the bioreactor system they helped construct. The students and professors collaborated on the production of enzymes by bacterial and fungal fermentation in support of research colleagues producing biocatalysts for the selective degradation and removal of pollutants from soils.
This work was supported by NSF grant OSR 93-50539.
