Microtweezer Gripping Glass Fiber
Caption:
This is a microtweezer made of silicon. It is gripping a glass fiber that is 5 microns in diameter--about one twentieth of the diameter of an average human hair. Microtweezers are used to pick up small objects of interest in scientific research. The tweezer body can be attached to any of a wide selection of available tips. The tips can be bonded parallel to the tweezer body, or at any desired out of plane angle.
