Notable Creatures
Caption:
A student from Glenallen Elementary School in Silver Spring, Maryland, takes notes on the types of creatures that inhabit the Gatorville Outdoor Classroom, located adjacent to the school. The fourth grade students and their teacher Kristi Cameron, collaborated to build Gatorville with a small grant from the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. The project won Cameron a Presidential Award for Mathematics and Science Teaching in 2001, which is administered in part by the National Science Foundation.
