The Southwest Watershed Research Center's mission is:

  • to understand and model the effects of changing climate, land use, and management practices on the hydrologic cycle, soil erosion processes, and watershed resources;

  • to develop remote sensing technology and apply geospatial analysis techniques;

  • to develop decision support tools for natural resource management;

  • and to develop new technology to assess and predict the condition and sustainability of rangeland watersheds.
