The Student Advising Center is the main information resource regarding studies in the United States. It operates under the direction of the Informational and Cultural Section of the American Embassy and is located in the Paraguayan-American Cultural Center (CCPA) branch at Avda. España 352, Asunción, Paraguay. The mission of the center is to provide detailed, current and objective information about the educational opportunities available in the United States.

The Center does not represent any particular university and does not endorse services offered by a specific company or organization in the fields of exam preparation, admissions, location, language studies, or obtaining a visa ( For more information about the centers affiliated with the State Department, visit the website: http://Exchanges.state.gov.).

The first interview costs G 10,000, but is free for CCPA students. Thereafter, services provided are free of charge. During the interview you can obtain brochures and internet access to research different universitites. The first interview is free for CCPA students.

The Educational Information Center offers the following resources:

Catalogues and CD-ROM information concerning undergraduate and postgraduate courses in American universities;
Information about English courses in the United States;
Grant information;
Information regarding the following exams—TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), SAT (Scholastic Assesment Test), GRE (Graduate Record Examiniation), and GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test);
Short and long course information; and
Information regarding the AMITY program, an exchange program for professors (http://www.amity.org).
