DMSP S-20 launched on Saturday, October 18, 2003

DMSP Launch: DMSP S-20 launched and became Flight 16 of the DMSP constellation on Saturday, October 18, 2003. The orbit is great and the initial spacecraft deployments all occurred as planned. The early-orbit team will complete sensor deployments, activations, and calibrations over the next 30 days. After the Air Force program office has ensured that the spacecraft is ready for operations, it will turn the spacecraft over to NOAA to operate and meet community data requirements.
