The
National Immunization Program is pleased to present a teleconference
program titled “Current Issues in Immunization.”
This program is designed to provide clinicians with the most
up-to-date information on immunization. The session was held
January 15, 2004.
This program combined a telephone audio conference with simultaneous
online visual content. It allowed for a question and answer
segment both by telephone and via the Internet.
The one-hour session focused on emerging immunization topics.
The January 15, 2004 session will focused on the following topics:
Influenza:
* Update on influenza virus activity in the United States
* Update on influenza vaccine availability
* Review of influenza vaccine recommendations for children and
adults, 2003-2004
Vaccine
Storage and Handling:
* Summary of the problem
* Current recommendations, including temperature and monitoring requirements
* Vaccine-specific storage and handling information
