Description

NASA/HQ plans to issue a Request for Quote for the following Commercial item/services: Computer equipment and peripherals required to complete the installation of a video/imagery/data application. This requirement is only for the computer equipment and peripherals; not for the installation. The system encompasses a Tandberg video conferencing system and an HP Win2000 based data system utilizing Stereoscopic stereo display monitors. The desktop application will utilize Remote View software to display and manipulate video imagery files. The system will be deployed at Headquarters and three Space Flight Centers. The entire configuration is based on commercial off the shelf legacy technology that has been adapted for NASA's video/imagery/data Return to Flight requirement. It is imperative that offerors understand that most of the components that NASA requires constitute “old” technology. New components will NOT work on this particular project. Offerors must propose on the items exactly as solicited without offering a “better”, more advanced technology; even if the advanced technology is less expensive.

The Government intends to award a single contract; however, NASA reserves the right to make multiple awards for less than the full quantities stated in the solicitation if it is advantageous from a price standpoint. All proposals will be evaluated on a fixed price basis and award will be based on price competition.

The anticipated release date of RFQ84261HBK is on or about September 22, 2004 with an anticipated quote due date of on or about September 29, 2004.

All responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency.

An ombudsman has been appointed. See NASA Specific Note "B".

The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World-Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
