NASA/HQ plans to issue a request for quotations(RFQ) for the Exel/Meridian Data NetStor MVD-SATA Nas Filer from Video Telecommunications, Inc. The authority is only one responsible source 10 U.S.C.2304(c)(1).

This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Procedures(SAP).

NASA/Headquarters intends to purchase both the design and configuration of the Excel/Meridian Data NetStor MVD-SATA NAS Filer from Video Telecommunications, Inc. Excel Meridian Data, on occasion, works through a channel of partners and resellers. In order to minimize conflict and confusion, Excel Meridian Data has in place, a lead or opportunity registration program in which resellers can register and opportunity in exchange for exclusivity and preferential pricing. When an opportunity has been registered, Excel Meridan will not work either directly or with another partners or reseller on that same opportunity. Video Telecommunications, Inc. has registered the NetStor MVD-SATA opportunity with Excel Meridian Data and has therefore secured best pricing and exclusivity in representing out products for this opportunity. The configuration consist of (1) Qty: 4 ea Ultra Trak SX8000 SCSI-to-ATA Raid system (2) Qty: 30 ea 250-OGB 9MS/7200 Ultra DMA (3) Qty: 3 ea Excel Meridan Data Netsor MVD NAS Server. These products are the only known equipment items compatible with the existing network.

This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Offerors are required to use the On-Line RFQ system to submit their quote. The On-line RFQ system is linked above or it may be accessed at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin;= . The information required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ.

The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13.

Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred) no later than [09/21/04]. (Prospective quoters shall notify this office of their intent to submit a quotation [OPTIONAL]). It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site for the release of amendments (if any). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their own copy of this notice, the on-line RFQ and amendments (if any).
