The 1996 amendments to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) mandate publicly accessible "electronic reading rooms" with agency FOIA response materials and other information routinely available to the public, with electronic search and indexing features.

The following HRSA programs and databases have been the subject of repeated FOIA requests:

• HHS Electronic Reading Room -- includes Department policies, manuals, speeches, and testimonies.
• National Center for Health Workforce Analysis -- assesses the nation's supply and demand for a health care workforce and analyzes the effect of changes in the health care system.
• Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSA)
• HRSA State Profiles -- six-page profiles filled with graphs and tables providing a concise look at health care issues in that State.
• Pharmacy Affairs Branch -- administers the Section 340B drug discount program, under which certain federally funded grantees have access to low-cost pharmaceutical drugs.
• Primary Health Care Online Databases -- these programs provide preventive and primary health services to underserved and vulnerable populations in communities across the country.
• National Practitioner Data Bank -- facilitates interaction with authorized health care organizations and to increase public awareness of the NPDB's efforts to improve the quality of health care in the United States.
• National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program -- Congress enacted the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) as a no-fault alternative to the tort system for resolving claims resulting from adverse reactions to mandated childhood vaccines.
• Hill-Burton Free Care Program -- Free hospital care, nursing home care, and care provided in other types of health facilities under the Hill-Burton Program.
• IMPAC Credit Card Holders
