COMMERCIAL SECTION

The Commercial Section-Tbilisi offers a range of services to assist U.S. firms interested in developing market opportunities or increasing their business in Georgia. These services include but are not limited to the Partner Search (identifying local agents/distributors of U.S. goods and services), and facilitating contacts/meetings between U.S. and Georgian businesspeople. We produce regular market bulletins made available to U.S. companies, provide in-country counseling to U.S. firms seeking new opportunities or facing obstacles. Our specialists focus on various industry sectors representing the best trade and investment potential for U.S. firms.

Other services provided are:

A) Information on enterprises in Georgia slated for privatization
B) American Export Register Book - Lists of American Companies by sector
C) Commercial News, a monthly DOC publication is distributed
D) American trade show events are advertised and promoted

1. BISNIS (Business Information Service for Newly Independent States)

Market research information regularly available from BISNIS includes:

Current Market Assessments and Data
Export and Partner Leads
Updates on Commercial Laws and Regulations
Guidance on sources of Finance for NIS Trade and Investment
Tips on Transportation, Banking, Customs and other business issues
Notice of upcoming conferences and trade promotion events
New Resources, including web-sites and business support organizations
Information on US, multilateral and other programs supporting US commercial relations with Georgia

2. BISNIS Counseling
BISNIS's US based staff of international trade specialists are available to answer inquiries from US companies about business opportunities and development in the NIS. Trade specialists are available by phone, e-mail, and appointment to provide information, answer questions, and assist US companies exploring business prospects in NIS markets. BISNIS respects the confidentiality of its clients' business activities.

3. BISNIS Market Update and Leads
BISNIS distributes by e-mail to interested US companies the most time-sensitive trade leads and market updates. US companies register to receive information on more than forty NIS industry sectors or on any NIS Country. There are three lead programs:

A) BISNIS Search for Partners identifies NIS businesses seeking US partners

B) BISNIS Trade & Tenders provides leads on NIS export sales opportunities

C) BISNIS Finance Link is and easy-to-use web-based service supporting US & NIS companies who have agreed on export transactions and are seeking finance providers
