A letter (September
8) from AS/PMB Scarlett to the chairs and ranking members of the Interior
appropriations subcommittees outlines the Department’s proposed
establishment of appraisal functions in the National Business Center (NBC).
It includes a chart depicting the placement of appraisal functions
in the NBC and a map outlining the proposed regional structure for appraisal
operations.
A memorandum (September 5) from AS/PMB Scarlett requests continued support from assistant secretaries and heads of bureaus for appraisal functions, including travel and training, during the interim period that will extend until bureaus and the NBC have sufficient information to derive reliable estimates of costs to support appraisal functions.
Answers to questions submitted by employees since the Secretary’s June 19, 2003 announcement of appraisal reform.
The current draft of recommendations
submitted by the Appraisal Reform Team, an interdisciplinary group of career
professionals, that is providing advice on implementation issues. Although the recommendations are still in draft form, they provided
the basis for the organizational proposal outlined in the AS/PMB’s September
8 letter.
