If you are presently receiving monthly benefits from a Federal or State agency (Social Security, Veterans Administration, etc.), you should contact the nearest American Embassy or Consulate to advise that office of your residence abroad and to inquire about the procedures for receiving your benefits while overseas. It may also be possible to make arrangements to have your check deposited directly into your bank account in the United States. The U.S. Embassy's Budget and Fiscal Unit has information and forms on direct deposit of U.S. Government checks into bank accounts in the United States. Account holders in Paraguay may access such funds through Automated Teller Machine (ATM) outlets.
