If you wish to purchase one of these software packages, check a variety of sources as prices do vary (LANL note: EndNote is available through ESD).

• EndNote 8: The export feature of SearchPlus (automatic download) does not work for EndNote v.8. The developer of EndNote is working on a patch. Until it is ready, use the RIS format and manually import using the Reference Manager (RIS) filter.
  
• ProCite - Please edit the Config file Ris.cfg so that the JF field is transferred. No journal title will be imported otherwise. A new .cfg file is available. Copy the file into the config directory of ProCite. For earlier versions, this directory will be associated with Biblio-Link.

RefWorks:

RefWorks is web-based, so no software needs to be installed and a destination file does not need to be created before downloading. (LANL note: LANL staff have access through https://www.refworks.com/).

RIS:

You can also manually download records using the RIS import filter in your bibliographic software package. The name for the RIS filter varies from package to package:

EndNote = RefMan RIS

ProCite = RIS

Reference Manager = RIS

RefWorks = Desktop Bibliographic Mgt. Software

There are a few databases that still require database-specific filters for downloading of records. Filters for PC and Mac are provided here. Click either the PC or MAC link to download the filter to your machine. For EndNote, each database requires a separate filter.
