The Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO) is
a private, nonprofit organization representing the 58 U.S. Organ
Procurement Organizations (OPOs). OPOs evaluate potential donors,
discuss donation with family members, arrange for the surgical
removal, preservation and distribution of donated organs. AOPO
works to maximize the availability of organs and tissues and
enhance
the quality, effectiveness and integrity of the donation process.
