What do I need to use GCG at NIH?
You can use GCG on a Unix mainframe machine, in which case you need:
1. A computer such as a Mac, PC or Unix workstation as your desktop
machine.
2. A helix account.
3. A modem or network connection to helix, and appropriate terminal emulation
software.
4. A printer (not required, but highly recommended!)
Alternatively, the most popular GCG utilities are available through
GCG-Lite, a web
interface to GCG. You don't need any special accounts to access this
suite of programs. You need a web browser such as Netscape or Internet
Explorer on your desktop machine, and a printer is a very good idea.
