Web of Science
Discover who is citing an author’s research and the impact it is
having on the global research community. HSRL has access to two of WOS's
databases, Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) and Science Citation Index
Expanded (SCI). SSCI's coverage includes subjects such as psychiatry,
psychology, public health, social issues, social work, sociology, substance
abuse, urban studies, and women's studies. SCI's coverage includes subjects
such as biotechnology, medicine, neuroscience, pediatrics and psychiatry.
Porpoise (research update service)
This research update service is based on the Web of Science. You can set
up search profiles to be searched against the weekly updates of Science
Citation Index Expanded and Social Science Citation Index databases. Also,
you can stay abreast of what is being published in your areas of interest,
track publications by your colleagues and/or receive the table of contents
for the latest issue of a journal(s). PORPOISE IS NOW AVAILABLE TO HSRL’S
PRIMARY CLIENTS.
Electronic Reference Library (ERL)
The ERL provides desktop access to a variety of databases.
This service is available remotely or at workstations in the library.
Remote access is available to our primary clients only and requires a
user name and password. If you are a primary client and do not have a
user name and password, please send an e-mail to refdesk@psc.gov
or call the Reference Desk at 301-443-2673 to obtain them.
