General Officer Announcements

            Lieutenant General Benjamin S. Griffin, United States Army, for appointment to the rank of general and assignment as Commanding General, United States Army Materiel Command, Fort Belvoir, Virginia.  He is currently serving as Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8, United States Army, Washington, D.C.

 

            Lieutenant General James J. Lovelace, Jr., United States Army, for reappointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3, United States Army, Washington, D.C.  He is currently serving as Director of the Army Staff, United States Army, Washington, D.C.

 

            Lieutenant General David D. McKiernan, United States Army, for reappointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as Deputy Commanding General/Chief of Staff, United States Army Forces Command, Fort McPherson, Georgia.  He is currently serving as Commanding General, Third United States Army/Commander, United States Army Forces Central Command/Coalition Forces Land Component Command, Fort McPherson, Georgia.

 

            Major General Robert T. Dail, United States Army, for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as Deputy Commander, United States Transportation Command, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.  He is currently serving as Director, J-3/4, United States Transportation Command, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.

 

            Major General James M. Dubik, United States Army, for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as Commanding General, I Corps and Fort Lewis, Fort Lewis, Washington.  He is currently serving as Director for Joint Experimentation, J-9, United States Joint Forces Command, Norfolk, Virginia.

 

            Major General Kevin C. Kiley, United States Army, for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as Commanding General, United States Army Medical Command/The Surgeon General, Falls Church, Virginia.  He is currently serving as Acting

 

            Major General David F. Melcher, United States Army, for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8, United States Army, Washington, D.C.  He is currently serving as Director, Program Analysis and Evaluation, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8, United States Army, Washington, D.C.

 

            Major General R. Steven Whitcomb, United States Army, for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as Commanding General, Third United States Army/ Commander, United States Army Forces Central Command/Coalition Forces Land Component Command, Fort McPherson, Georgia.  He previously served as Chief of Staff, United States Central Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Florida.

 

            Colonel Michael B. Cates, United States Army, for promotion to the rank of brigadier general.  He is currently serving as Commander, Center for Health Promotion and Preventive Medicine/Chief, Army Veterinary Corps, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.

 

            Colonel Karl R. Horst, United States Army, for promotion to the rank of brigadier general.  He is currently serving as Assistant Division Commander (Maneuver), 3d Infantry Division (Mechanized), Fort Stewart, Georgia.
