Flag Officer Assignments

            Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Vern Clark announced the following flag officer assignments:

 

            Navy Rear Adm. (selectee) Samuel J. Locklear III is being assigned as director, Assessment Division, N81, office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.  Locklear is currently deputy director, Surface Warfare Division, N76B, office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.

 

            Navy Rear Adm. (selectee) Paul S. Stanley is being assigned as director, Warfare Programs and Readiness, N8, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, Norfolk, Va.  Stanley is currently assigned as director, Operations and Plans, U.S. Naval Forces Europe/ commander, Submarine Group Eight/commander, Allied Submarines, Mediterranean, Naples, Italy.

 

            Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Carl V. Mauney is being assigned as director, Operations and Plans, U.S. Naval Forces Europe/commander, Submarine Group Eight/commander, Allied Submarines, Mediterranean, Naples, Italy.  Mauney is currently assigned as director, Strategy and Policy Division, N51, office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.

 

            Navy Rear Adm. (lower half) Raymond A. Spicer is being assigned as deputy director, Surface Warfare Division, N76B, office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.  Spicer is currently deputy for Surface Ships, N76E, office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.
