The following Army General Officer nominations were confirmed by the Senate on 8 October 2004: 

            Major General Raymond T. Odierno, United States Army, for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and assignment as Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, The Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.  He previously served as Commanding General, 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized), Fort Hood, Texas.
