The NCRR Division for Clinical Research Resources (DCRR) provides funding to biomedical research institutions to establish and maintain specialized clinical research facilities and clinical-grade biomaterials that enable clinical and patient-oriented research. DCRR supports these resources through the following programs:

Arrow Bullet Division for Clinical Research Resources Program Guidelines (Draft - March 17, 2004) describe the DCRR programs, especially the General Clinical Research Centers.
Arrow Bullet Mandatory NIH Medical Education Course: Protection of Human Participants in Research - NIH now requires all investigators who apply for, or receive, NIH funds for research involving people to be educated on human subjects protection. Accordingly, NIH has developed a Web-based, continuing education program on the protection of human participants in research.

NIH Funds First National SNP Genotyping Center at Broad Institute NIH announces that it will fund the first national center for high-throughput genotyping dedicated solely to large-scale SNP (single nucleotide polymorphism) analysis at the Eli and Edythe L. Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard University in Cambridge, MA. A five-year cooperative agreement will provide over $14 million to create a high-capacity resource so that U.S. researchers can quickly and cost-effectively carry out large-scale studies of genetic variation in humans and animals to advance disease gene identification. - October 2004
