Ph.D. is required. Salary is commensurate with experience ($48,947 - $76,261). There are some citizenship restrictions. The incumbent will participate in community nutrition research to determine the roles of diet (energy and nutrient intakes), nutritional status, physical activity, body composition, and health (physical and mental) among Native Americans and intervention studies involving diet (traditional, food assistance and contemporary) and physical activity to reduce risk of obesity and diabetes in Native American children and adults using culturally-appropriate methods. Major Duties: The incumbent conducts independent and collaborative research on the biological roles of micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) and other bioactive components of foods on regulation of healthy body weight and composition in children, adolescents, and adults. Incumbent plans, implements and evaluates food-based interventions, in conjunction with activity and behavioral changes, to achieve and maintain healthy body weight in various populations including underserved groups.
