International Ground Stations

The maps below show the locations of ground stations operated by our International Cooperators for the direct downlink and distribution of Landsat 7 and/or Landsat 5 image data. The red circles show the approximate area over which each station has the capability for direct reception of Landsat data. Components of the USGS ground station network are also shown (black), as well as stations with dual status (dashed).

In the case of Landsat 7, spacecraft resources (e.g. antennae and power) are used at or near 100% capacity for many areas of the world. Organizations interested in pursuing direct access to Landsat 7 data downlink should contact the Landsat Project Manager before making any form of commitment regarding implementation of a Landsat 7 ground receiving station.

Landsat 5

In addition to the fully operational Landsat 5 ground stations shown above, the Landsat Project is currently working with other ground stations to support the possible expansion of Landsat 5 TM direct reception in the future. Organizations interested in pursuing direct access to Landsat 5 data downlink should contact the Landsat Project Manager before making any form of commitment regarding implementation of a Landsat 5 ground receiving station.
