The effect of SLC-off acquisition on the USGS ETM+ data product will depend upon the level of correction and type of processing applied:
- Level 0Rp (L0Rp) Product - The L0Rp data product will include the original duplicated
scanlines along the edge of the scene. Width of the duplicated data regions will diminish toward the center
of the scene. (Details and product samples)
- Level 1G (L1G) Products - Several different Level 1G (L1G) product options have been
developed by the USGS EROS Data Center (EDC) in order to increase the utility of the L1G SLC-off product.
These options reflect the three different methods by which the original duplicated data may be replaced
during L1G processing. Users are strongly encouraged to consider the intended application
of the product when determining the best option:
- Level 1G Standard
The Level 1G standard SLC-off product provides the original data as acquired. Duplicated pixels have been replaced with null values (zero-fill) and the image will therefore contain alternating "stripes" of missing data. (Details and product samples)
- Level 1G Gap-filled
The Level 1G gap-filled product provides a fully populated image, in which all of the missing image pixels in the original SLC-off image have been replaced with histogram-matched data values derived from one or more alternative acquisition dates. (Details and product samples)
- Level 1G Interpolated
The maximum (15-pixel) interpolated SLC-off product provides a fully populated image, in which all missing pixels have been filled with DN values interpolated from neighboring scan lines. Note that all replacement data values are derived from within the current SLC-off image. (Details and product samples)
