Policy on PME Requirements |
Because the current high deployment tempo for Marine units will likely continue into the next fiscal year, the waiver of the PME requirement for selection to the next higher grade is extended for all FY05 USMC and USMCR SNCO selection boards. Read all of ALMAR 035/04.

Officer Promotion Boards PME and Records |
The only items an officer promotion board has access to is the OMPF, Master Brief Sheet (MBS), and any correspondence sent by the officer. Make sure that completed PME reflects on the OMPF and MBS. Boards cannot check or use the MCI web site. If there is any doubt, mail the completion certificates to the board. The new, revised version of 8010 Sergeant's DEP course is now open for enrollment. A new prerequisite has been established between MCI and MCU/EPME branch. In order to enroll in the 8010 series, you must have completed the Land Navigation MCI . |

Warfighting - 7400 Exams |
MCI has been receiving a large amount of exam answer sheets for 7400 - Warfighting Skills Program that are not graded and contain incomplete proctor information. Proctors, please ensure that correct personal information is properly filled out and the grade is posted in the appropriate slot. This will ensure that exams are processed in the most timely and accurate manner possible. Thank you for your assistance in this matter . |

MCI Course Completion Dates Extended |
As a result of the high operational tempo throughout the Marine Corps in support of various operations world-wide, the Marine Corps Institute has extended all course completion dates by 6 months for those currently enrolled. This applies across the board to those who are presently enrolled in MOS courses as well as PME. Any courses enrolled in after 17 July 2003 will not fall under this extension. Please check your individual record to ensure that you are aware of your course completion dates and feel free to contact MCI with any questions you may have. |

Composite Score Computation |
Effective 21 October 2003, Self-Education bonus points will be increased to a maximum of 100 points and Marine Corps Institute (MCI) Courses completed as a Private or Private First Class will be applied to a Lance Corporal’s composite score. Currently, Self-Education bonus points are maximized at 75 points and MCI Courses completed as a Private or Private First Class are not credited to the composite score for Lance Corporal.
