Human Resources Management

The objective of Human Resources Management (HRM) is to furnish the Marine Corps with a quality civilian workforce of maximum efficiency, productivity, and stability to carry out the mission. In fulfilling this objective, HRM policies and programs are developed in conformance with all applicable federal laws and regulations.

The head of each Marine Corps activity is responsible for HRM. Thus, the organization head is responsible for ensuring that all managers and supervisors carry out their responsibilities for effective personnel management within the framework of Federal, DOD and DON policy. The organization head is also responsible for developing personnel management goals based on mission requirements and evaluating progress toward these goals.

HR Responsibilities:

Ensuring the understanding, acceptance and implementation of HR/EEO policies and programs
Reviewing and monitoring the effectiveness of HR/EEO management and taking corrective actions where required.
Providing an effective work environment with efficient and productive human resources.
Ensuring that all pertinent public policy as expressed in laws, executive orders, regulations, or otherwise is appropriately carried out within their organizations.
Execute all responsibilities established by law, rule, regulation, or instruction; providing fair and equitable treatment of employees; ensuring employee training and development; and taking actions affecting employees in conformance with the merit system.
