Our mission is to coordinate
development, publication, and maintenance of Marine Corps
Service doctrine; coordinate Service input to the development,
publication, and maintenance of joint, combined multi-Service,
and naval doctrine; and to participate in matters of
standardization, terminology, and other combat development
system processes.

The Doctrine Division is
comprised of an administrative section and 10 functionally
organized branches. These branches are grouped into two teams
according to their main focus. The Purple Team interacts
mainly with the Joint Staff and the other Services, while the
Green Team usually works on Marine Corps projects.
