A U.S. Navy aviation boatswain's mate called a tailhook runner rushes toward an F/A-18C Hornet.

A U.S. Navy aviation boatswain's mate called a tailhook runner rushes toward an F/A-18C Hornet after a successful arrested landing during flight operations aboard the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) on Sept. 26, 2004. The tailhook runner's responsibility is to signal that the tailhook is clear of the arresting wire following the landing. Stennis and its embarked Carrier Air Wing 14 are deployed in the western Pacific Ocean. The F/A-18 is attached to Strike Fighter Squadron 113. DoD photo by Airman Charlie Whetstine, U.S. Navy.
