Subsistence Supplemental Allowance (FSSA) |

| The Family Subsistence Supplemental Allowance is a non-taxable program that was designed to remove the soldier’s household from eligibility for benefits under the food stamp program. If a soldier’s gross income, together with the gross income of their entire household, is within 130 percent of the poverty line as defined by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) of a household of a given size, that soldier is entitled to FSSA. | |||
