Maximizing Your Distance Learning Experience
Traditional classrooms with instructors, chalkboards, and textbooks are slowly being replaced or
supplemented with computer-based or paper-based distance learning courses. Some students find
success in this new environment while other students find it difficult to adjust. The purpose
of this course is to help you avoid pitfalls and get the most out of your distance learning
experiences. A series of short assessments will help you determine your approach to learning
new information, how you process new information, how you organize concepts so you can understand
them, how you master knowledge, your comfort level with technology and your self-paced study skills.
Based on your assessment results, the course will suggest strategies to help you become a successful
distance learner.
This 30 minute lesson is designed for new on-line learners. It is now available on MarineNet.
