DoD Action Week" - Planned Events by AFGE Concerning NSPS, October 11-15 During the week of October 11 - 15, 2004, and possibly both before and afterwards, the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) will be coordinating an effort at its various AFGE locals "to educate Department of Defense employees" on problems that AFGE associates with the National Security Personnel System (NSPS). As of October 1, 2004, it is believed that these efforts will include informational picketing on Thursday, October 14th. In addition, to date AFGE has informed the Program Executive Office (PEO-NSPS) that the following Department of the Navy (DON) AFGE locals will be participating: Local # Agency Location 1156 DON Mechanicsburg, PA 1698 DON/DLA Philadelphia, PA 2635 DON Cutler, ME 2113 DON Orlando, FL 2010 DON Mayport, FL 2904 DFAS/USMC Kansas City, MO 1028 DON Gulfport, MS 53 DON/DFAS Norfolk, VA 1786 USMC Quantico, VA 2104 USA/USMC Yuma, AZ 1482 USMC Barstow, CA 2018 USMC Twentynine Palms, CA 2065 USMC Camp Lejeune, NC 1201 DON Fallon, NV Please remember that informational demonstrations that do not interfere with an Agency's operations (e.g., do not prevent access to the installation, do not prevent scheduled personnel from reporting to work, etc.), and are not done on the duty time of the personnel involved are legal protected activity under the Federal Service Labor-Management Relations Statute.
