Acquisition Management Directorate
The Acquisition Management Directorate is responsible to the PEO SHIPS for executive planning and the direction of all activities associated with the acquisition of all elements of the Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) for the DDG-51 Class Program. This includes acquisition strategy, budgeting, procurement execution, preparation, and negotiation of Ship Project Directives (SPDs), and establishment of appropriate procedures and controls. Additionally, the directorate manages the acquisition of all weapon and combat systems for the Navy's CG 47 Cruiser Modernization program and the LHD-8 program. The directorate currently manages the acquisition of $14.2B in weapon systems, produced in 48 states.
